20+ years of designing suits for triathletes and swimmers has provided us with a wealth of experience and our female athletes are some of our strongest ambassadors. When in the open water no female athlete should have to deal with restriction that comes with a bad fitting wetsuit. Fifteen years ago we introduced femme fit. The goal was to find the perfect fit for our female athletes.
Our designers and fit specialists have spent countless hours working on, observing women swimming, tweaking pattern designs and taking into account their personal experiences and anatomical differences. No other suit fits women better then Blueseventy.
- A superior size range to fit every body type.
- Our femme fit sizing focuses on refined pattern designs in critical fit areas like the bust, torso and even the wrists and ankles.
- We've lowered the neckline of our femme fit suits to provide superior comfort and reduced chaffing.
- The extended zipper length makes our femme fit suits slip on easier while accommodating those with wider hips and most importantly making transitions easier and faster.
Femme Fit provides women of all shapes, sizes and skill levels what they want most in the water - a suit that fits. The highly turned size range is the result of extensive testing and listening to what women had to say. An ever evolving size range features a refined bust and torso shape, a lowered neckline, a slimmer fit in critical areas for a better feel in the water and an extended zipper length to accommodate wider hips for easier, faster transitions.
Femme Fit sizing is available on every women's Blueseventy wetsuit and is the inspiration for all our women specific products - from our swim skins, race competition swim suits, training suits and even goggles.
Wetsuits
When it comes to selecting the best wetsuit for swimming one can easily be overwhelmed with all the options out there. Blueseventy alone has 8 gender specific models! Add in different brands and styles and the choice becomes even more complex.
There are several key factors to take into account when buying your first open water wetsuit:
- Competitiveness
- Budget
- Frequency of Use
- Swim Distance
- Water Temperature
- Swimming Background / Skill Level
- When to Choose a Sleeveless Suit
All wetsuits are not created equal! The most important factor is to make sure you're looking at a triathlon wetsuit or a wetsuit designed for open water swimming. These suits will feature much more flexibility, a tighter fit and features to aid in a faster, more comfortable swim. Other wetsuits such as surfing or scuba wetsuits do not work well for swimming and you'll find yourself uncomfortable and tired at the end of the swim.
Read More about each Key Factor and help determine the best wetsuit for you.
We've been revolutionizing the open water swim since 1993 with the development of one of the first triathlon wetsuits. Since then we continue to refine, redesign, test and produce the world's best wetsuits for swimming. All of our wetsuits are methodically designed and rigorously tested. Our suits are handmade using premium neoprene with glued and blindstitched seams paired with heat tape for the ultimate performance and durability.

The correct fitting of your blueseventy wetsuit can make all the difference in your performance and comfort while swimming.
In addition, having the wetsuit on correctly can be major factor of in the suit feels too small or not. One of the most common complaints we see from customers is that a suit they purchased based off our size chart is too small. Most of the time, once they are able to get the suit on and adjusted properly they find it fits correctly. (Another thing to note if your wetsuit feels too small is that these suits are intended to fit tightly, and it will feel better in the water, which is why we always encourage a test swim before making a final decision).

Our answer is, YES!
We're confident that we've created the best quality wetsuits for open water swimming on the market, designed to keep you comfortable, buoyant, and swimming faster every time you hit the open water. Our suits are designed to be used in the water, while swimming, thus they feel the best, and fit most comfortably when you are IN the water swimming.
Trying the wetsuit on at home is perfect to help get used to getting into and out of a wetsuit and get an idea if the suit is too big for you, but to really get an idea for the fit we strongly encourage you hit the open water for a test swim. (note: this is specific to wetsuits purchased directly from Blueseventy, and may not apply to our wetsuits purchased from another retailer).

GENERAL CARE
Rinse your wetsuit in clean fresh water after each use (warm or cold is fine!). Turn it inside out and allow it to completely dry away from direct sunlight before turning it back right side out.To store your wetsuit it is best to hang on a wide suit-style jacket hanger to avoid creasing. You can hang the wetsuit in half on a wide pants hanger or from the shoulders like a shirt. However, if your wetsuit is going to be hanging for an extended amount of time we recommend folding the legs up onto the shoulders to remove the stress of the weight of the suit. Do not leave your wetsuit in direct sunlight or in the trunk of your car where heat can be intense for long periods of time. Avoid or limit use in chlorinated water.
TRAVELING/PACKING
When packing your wetsuit for travel you want to carefully fold it similar to how it came in the box! Avoid folding your wetsuit in half lengthwise, which can create a long, ugly crease down the center of the suit. It's also totally fine to fold in the arms and roll up the suit for traveling. The key is to limit creasing on the neoprene. Try to avoid leaving your wetsuit folded for extended periods of time.
When packing, place your wetsuit in the center of your suitcase, away from hard objects to avoid creasing/damaging your wetsuit.
USE OF LUBRICANT
If required in any area (such as wrists or ankles) a lubricant will aid getting the suit off quickly. A lubricant will also benefit any area that can chafe, such as the back of the neck. We only recommend (and cover under warranty) the use of water based lubricants or lubricants designed specifically for triathlon wetsuits. Products such as Body Glide or TriSlide are safe. Never use petroleum based products like Vaseline or Aquafor. Other materials and oils can also damage the sensitive materials and we do not advise use. These include, but are not limited to oils such as vegetable or baby oil, and other gels like silicone gels.
REPAIRING SMALL TEARS AND NICKS
Fingernail cuts can occur on the smooth surfaces of a wetsuit. This is usually the result of pulling too hard when putting the suit on or by catching or pinching the surface of the wetsuit with your nails. While we make every effort to ensure that our products use the most durable materials available you should be aware that as a performance product wetsuits are not bullet-proof and occasionally small tears do occur. Should a tear or fingernail cut occur, then repairing it yourself is a very simple 5 minute job.
You will need rubber cement glue. We recommend the Aquaseal Neo Neoprene Cement. You can easily purchase it from us, here. The Aquaseal cement comes in an easy to use tube that you can apply directly to the damaged area.
You may also want a small brush (such as an artists painting brush) or a spatula (which can simply be a thin piece of plastic or card).
For step by step instructions on repairing wetsuit damage, check out this article.
Blueseventy wetsuits are crafted from the highest quality of neoprene available. Unfortunately this means that they are more susceptible to damage than your average surfing or dive wetsuit.
It's fairly easy to accidentally rip the neoprene when getting into and out of the suit. Tension tears, caused by something sharp penetrating the neoprene while its stretched, are the most common issue and are most often seen on the legs and arms of a wetsuit as these are typically caused by fingernails.

Tech Suits
Blueseventy Competition Swimwear is designed to fit extremely tight in order to offer the most compression in order to reduce drag, provide dynamic lift and help propel you forward. We utilize the latest in modern textile fabric technology with advanced ultrasonic welding to create the fastest possible swimwear.
Due to the high competitive design of the technical swimsuits, they are not easy to get on. These are not your everyday swimwear that you can simply slip into, time and care must be taken for a proper, comfortable fit.

Save your best, most scientific suits for your best, most important meets. The fabrics in our Nero Tech Suits are highly technical and chlorine, which is effectively bleach, damages both the fabrics and bonding at the seams. Wearing a Nero for long periods of time is not only uncomfortable, but can stretch the fabric permanently.
HERE ARE OUR RACE DAY SUIT TIPS:
- Put your suit on about half an hour before you race
- Take your time, the fabrics are lightweight & delicate to make them FAST, so treat them with care.
- Always have a spare suit, just in case! You may need a dry suit for finals!
- Don’t wear your race suit for warm ups & swim downs.
- Girls, if you swim down between races wear a training suit over your race suit, take the straps off your shoulders & roll the race suit down to the narrowest part of your waist. This is more comfortable & helps prolong the life of your suit.
- Rinse your suit with fresh, cold water & dry it flat or hanging from the legs (hanging from straps encourages chlorine to collect in crotch & damages the bonding there)
- Never, ever use a hand dryer to dry your suit!
After race day, make sure to give your suit a good rinse in fresh water and store either hanging from the legs or gently folded. Always inspect suits that have been used and stored, as the chlorine can continue to break down the seam bonding, so a used suit may pull apart after being stored. It is always advisable to have a fresh, unworn suit as a backup during any meet or competition.
There’s no exact answer to how long a suit should last, because it depends on how frequently you wear it and how well it’s looked after. From the moment you put it in the pool, chlorine will start the aging process of the suit. Chlorine is extremely harsh on the highly technical fabric and seam bonding. With use, you'll see two things happen. First, the chlorine causes the glue on the bonded seams to breakdown, making them susceptible to separation and tears. Second, you'll notice stretch degradation, which is a combination of the pool chemicals breaking down the compressive nature of the fabric, and time / use stretching out the suit. To limit breakdown of your suit and prolong it's life we recommend rinsing in fresh, cold water and drying as soon as possible after use. Please remember that once it's been immersed in chlorinated water, degradation will start. However, a well cared for Nero should last you three to six months. In the event of any defect in the product we offer a 6-week warranty period against defects.
Please note that after this six week period, our we will not replace suits that smell of chlorine, or look like they’ve been left in a kit bag overnight. If there is a genuine problem with your nero reach out to us, but please take good care of it and it should see you through plenty of personal best times for months to come!
GOGGLES

The color or shade of your goggle lens is designed to do more than look sweet while swimming. Colored colored lenses perform differently in various light and weather conditions, so choosing a goggle lens color for your swimming location or need is recommended vs picking the color you like best. Of course, the choice is up to you, but here’s our recommendations for picking your lens color:
Clear Lens Perfect for low light conditions such as those found in a dimly lit indoor pool, or outdoors when the sun is not present (before sunrise and after sunset).
Yellow and Amber Lens Great for low light conditions, overcast weather and indoor swimming. These lenses will add brightness to your vision.
Blue Lens Blue lenses are similar to Yellow and Amber lenses in that they work well in low light conditions. They also cut a bit of the brightness from the sun when swimming outdoors, just not as much as the Smoke or Mirror tinted lenses.
Smoke Superb for sunny days providing a similar effect as sunglasses. While they will darken one’s field of vision when used indoors, you can still swim with smoke lenses indoors.
Mirrored The tint of Mirrored lenses are ideal for swimming in full sun and bright light conditions. They provide a darker tint than the Smoke lens.
Polarized Polarized lenses eliminate reflections and provide superior clarity of vision. They are optimal for changing lighting conditions such as partly cloudy days. Polarized lens can also come in lighter and darker tints which will help in bright light.
*Please note, not all goggles styles are available in every lens color option.
Did you know it's important to treat your goggles with care, just as you would a nice pair of sunglasses? Improper care will lead to scratches, deterioration of the anti-fog coating and overall damage. Follow our tips for keeping your goggles in top shape for as long as possible.
Rinse after use. Always rinse your goggles in cool fresh water after every use and allow to dry.
Don't rub or scrub the insides. Our goggle lenses have an anti-fog coating to help keep your vision crystal clear while swimming. This coating can be destroyed by rubbing or scrubbing the inside of the goggles. Over time this coating will wear out with use, but avoid rubbing to prolong the life of your goggles.
Let your goggles air dry. Wiping the moisture off your goggles will damage the anti-fog coating that is on the inside of the lenses. Likewise, simply tossing them into your swim bag can scratch them or allow for bacterial build up if left in a damp, musty environment. We recommend hanging your goggles on the outside of your bag to dry or laying them flat in a safe location whenever possible.
Goggles fogging up? The anti-fog coating applied to all our goggles is designed to to limit the risk of goggles fogging and obscuring your view underwater. This will work most of the time, however some temperature differences may be too great for goggles to overcome such as cold goggles in your bag put into very warm pool water, or the opposite, or warm goggles from in your car taken into cold lake or ocean water. If your goggles fog, simply dip them in the water, shake out the drops and keep going. As your goggles age, the anti-fog coating will wear away through use. This is normal and usually a sign that it's time to replace the goggles. If you've taken good care of them and the gaskets and lenses are still in great shape, you can simply use an anti-fog spray before each swim to keep using those favorite goggles until they fall apart.
Swimskins
Blueseventy swimskins are built to be compressive and intended to fit tight, like a second skin. Take your time getting into the suit, and always have someone else zip you up.
Our swimskins feature a locking zipper without any leash to prevent accidental unzipping during a race yet allow quick transitions.
Simply have someone zip up the suit, then flip the zipper head down to lock the zipper in place. As you exit the water, reach back and flip up the zipper head to unlock. When unlocked you can pull the two sides of the suit apart and the zipper will slide down to unzip easily.

Swimskins are a performance product designed to increase your speed during a swim that is too warm for a wetsuit. We recommend treating these items with care and saving them for a race situation.
The bonded seams of a swimskin will begin to break down with repeated use and are likely the first thing to fail on a swimskin.
To prolong the life of your swimskin we recommend:
- Always rinse your swimskin in cold, fresh water after a swim and allow to air dry away from heat or direct sunlight.
- Never leave your swimskin in direct heat, such as the trunk of a car.
- Never use your swimskin in chlorine. The chlorine will significantly reduce the life of the swimskin as it begins to break down the bonding glue on the seams and also will damage the technical fabric which results in less compression and tearing.
- Be careful when putting on your swimskin and always ask for help zipping it up.
